Few years ago, I was hired to create craftsmanship culture across +100 teams.
I started with presentations to spread ideas around and detect early adopters.
After few experiments, I ended up with skills grid and a radar to track improvements by team.
I understood that there is 3 different levels to reach agile development expertise : clean coder, advanced and expert craftsmanship skills.
Those are necessary to embrace agile and activate iteration based development.
Be aware that iterations based is not increments based.
To do incremental steps you need a perfect plan designed upfront.
This is anti-agile and leads to slow learning pace.
Iterative learning makes your product reactive !
